Police curbs new rioting in Shaxi
(June 28, 2012) With proper measures from the government and the police, the situation in Shaxi goes calm. However, some trouble-makers are still trying to made aggression to the public, which are curbed by the police immediately.
At 8 p.m. on 27th, some individuals start to gather again in town, throwing stones against passing vehicles. A car parking by the roadside has been set on fire.
“Zhongshan will never allow any lawbreakers to make trouble.” said Xue Xiaofeng, Party Secretary of Zhongshan, “we shall ensure the safety of all 3.12 million residents including both local and migrant population.”
Police have been deployed to major roads and streets in town to guard against any new aggression. Police and plainclothesmen petrol regularly in town to awe criminal acts. Also, major traffic hubs have been deployed with police in case the situation is extended to other townships. The police will arrest those who set fire on cars or make trouble to the public. So far, there is no any severe injury or death in the incident. The general situation in Shaxi and surrounding towns are under control.
