Wow! Zhongshan skytrain to be built by the end of 2015 【“空轨”来袭】中山3至5年建成轨道交通系统

Good news! ZS urban rail transit system now is on its way! ZS will begin preliminary work on a brand new rapid transit system this year, besides working on Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge and Shenzhen-Maoming railway, according to the work report of the municipal government. The sky train will be used in the urban transit system in Zhongshan and the first demonstration line is set to be completed by year’s end.

Q1. Why the need for a rapid transit system?

 

The main reason is the increasingly serious traffic congestion in ZS. According to the statistics, nowadays more than 400 vehicle license plates are granted every week, peaking at 1,000. To ease the traffic, ZS needs to build an urban rail transit system, a mode of transport featuring high capacity and speed, and known to be safe, punctual and energy-saving.

Q2. What is a skytrain?

 

A skytrain, or a Straddle-Type Monorail, is just like a bus riding on an elevated concrete beam, resembling a train in the sky, thus its name. It runs at 60 kilometers per hour with a great flexibility, little noise, small turning radius and strong gradeability. The skytrain system has been running very well in Chongqing.

Q3.Why skytrain? Why not build a metro system?

 

Located in the central alluvial plain of the Pearl River Delta, there are many rivers and creeks running through ZS. The complicated underground environment makes it difficult to build a subway system here. Besides, the skytrain is less expensive than the metro.

Q4. How long will it take to build the urban rail transit system?

The urban rail transit system is to be finished in 3 to 5 years, covering not only urban areas, but also small towns. The project will be funded in PPP model (Public—Private—Partnership), with the price tap of first demonstration line at 2~3 billion yuan.

首条“空轨”示范线有望年底完成

市内轨道交通要来了!在今年的《政府工作报告》中,中山市政府提出将在2015年“大力推进交通路网 建设”,除了事先已备受关注的深中通道、深茂铁路等市际交通设施外,报告还提出今年将“推进城市轨道交通前期工作,构建中山捷运系统”。 那么,“中山的捷运系统”将是什么样的?它又将何时建好?4日上午,中山市发改局局长黄桂光就此事作出了回应。据其介绍,轨道交通通常有地铁、“空中”轻 轨、有轨电车等多种形式,并不能单纯地理解成地铁,而中山准备引入的是“跨座式单轨列车”,并争取在今年年底建成第一条示范线。

为什么要发展轨道交通?

车 辆增长速度过快致交通日渐堵塞 引入“捷运系统”的重要原因之一是目前中山市交通堵塞日益严重。“根据统计数据,全市每周的机动车挂牌数达到400多辆,最高峰的时候甚至有1000多 辆,这样的增长速度使中山的道路承受了很大压力。”黄桂光说。 其二,他认为,现代的城市必须有现代的交通方式,目前全世界比较流行的现代交通方式就是轨道交通,它有着运量大、速度快、安全准点、节约资源和用地等优 势,这些正好能够弥补中山现在的不足。 什么是“跨座式单轨列车”?类似“空中小火车”时速达60公里 所谓“跨座式单轨”,是指通过单根轨道来支撑、稳定和导向,车体骑跨在轨道梁上运行的铁路。跨座式单轨特点是适应性强、噪声低、转弯半径小、爬坡能力非常 强。类似于“空中小火车”,速度可以达到每小时60公里左右。

据了解,国内发展“跨座式单轨列车”比较成熟的地区是 重庆,每天的运输量达到100万人次,每一条线路平均每分钟就发一次车。黄桂光表示,中山将会借鉴重庆的成功经验,让老百姓的出行能够更加便利。 为何不选择地铁?地下环境错综复杂开发难度大 国内不少一、二线城市近年来都在大力发展地铁,建设以轨道交通为骨干的城市公共交通系统。而中山之所以选择“空轨”而不选择地铁,既是受到地质环境的限 制,也是基于城市发展现状的考虑。中山地处珠三角冲积平原中部,内涌河网繁多,地下环境错综复杂,这给开发地铁造成了不小的难度。此外,地铁的造价要相对 高于“空轨”。 据中山市规划局局长张珂介绍,开发利用地下空间,要充分考虑到城市整体空间布局和经济的发展状况。他表示,越往地下挖,成本就越高,而相比之下中山的房价 水平一直比较低,如果一味往地下发展,而不考虑市场的需求及接受程度,很有可能导致不利后果。

轨道交通系统何时建好?

第 一条示范线有望年底完成 据黄桂光透露,根据规划中山将在3年—5年内建成全市的轨道交通网络,这个交通网络涵盖了全域中山的概念,不仅仅只在市区建轨道,还将覆盖各个镇区。 据悉,中山的捷运系统将采取PPP融资模式,建设投资中10%是财政支付、50%为社会资本、40%由开发商投入。而有望在今年年底完成的第一条示范线计 划投资20亿至30亿元。

Thanks for your question Gary. The proposal is for the first one is to run from the Expo Center on Boai Six Road to the Zhongshan North Train Station. It is still under discussion however.
